Another fun little project. My visually impaired friend asked me to make a miniature Spanish bull as a memento of our epic tandem bike ride back from southern Spain last year – here is the result.

When we cycled past these huge silhouette sculptures in prominent places along the roadside I was ignorant of the fact that they were originally erected by a sherry company for advertising purposes.  Since the use of them for advertising close to a road has since been banned, the advertising logo has been painted out, just leaving very effective plain black silhouettes.  The design has since become a sort of unofficial emblem of Spain.

My little version, which is for my friend’s daughter, measures just 205mm high.

A very simple little job but I was quite pleased with it.
