Another non-sculpture job… A friend of mine who is blind is a keen tandem cyclist. His latest regular riding partner is too short in the leg to reach the pedals on the best tandem available to the pair. The usual arrangement is for the rear riders (stoker) handlebars to be mounted from the seat of the front rider (pilot), thereby restricting the amount the front riders seat can be lowered. My adaptation should allow the front seat to be lowered by a further 50mm or so by allowing the rear handlebars to be mounted on the crossbar instead. It is made in steel and TIG brazed together. I will paint it in due course. It’s a 600 mile round trip to try it on the bike so let’s hope I’ve got the sizes right!
