Here we have a representation of a swallowtail butterfly - apparently the UKs largest butterfly, although, thankfully, the real things are not quite as large as this one! This sculpture in 304 stainless steel measures 700mm wing tip to wing tip and is 410mm long excluding its tentacles. The body is formed with bands of sheet stainless steel to closely represent the segments of the abdomen of the real insect. I have added some colour (blue, brown and straw) to the wings by heat treating them. I could make something similar to be wall mounting, possibly with less detail in the body if it were not to be visible. I can make something like this from around £280, depending on materials and the level of detail required.
